It needs a potenz hydrogen (ph) of 6.5 to 8.5. The overall simplicity of its form and growth habit makes it highly desirable for many water gardeners. A nicely compact form of egyptian papyrus, about half the height of king tut, but with the same large poms on the ends of the stems.

It needs good light, full or partial sun, to grow. Tiny flowers/seeds in tight clusters above the leaves add interest in summer.
